Blogs I follow, and why I like them

There are a number of blogs which I check back to regularly, which I have come to rely on for tips and inspiration. They serve to guide me in what and how I write, and let me know that this idea I have of making it as a freelancer are not so dumb after all.

Here are some of the best, and why I like them.

When I first got it into my head that I wanted to write for a living, this is the first blog that I found that made me sit back and say, hey, this is what I want, and these people can tell me what I need to do to get there. There are some fantastic and talented people here who have loads of experience and are only too happy to share it.

Same reasons, really, except this one seems to be geared more towards writing, whereas Freelance Switch has a lot more about design and web development. The forums here are much slower than those on FS too, but you usually get pretty quick responses to questions.

This blog is more geared towards 'working', whether that be as a freelancer or an employee. But loads of inspirational stuff on there, and I love the regular links to other information points.

As it says. Loads of tips about every conceivable aspect of writing, whether that's business writing, book writing, blogging....

http://www.copyblogger.com/
This is one for those who blog for money. It has hundreds of atricles about how to make the most of blogging for business, from the actual writing to getting your work onto search engines and much more. Quite a journalistic feel.

There are more, but I feel that these are sme of the best out there. Go ahead and visit, and tell 'em I sent ya!

  1. One of my favourites is another Blogspot one - Words on the Page. Lori's description of the writing life Monday to Friday is warts and all, but great reading.
I also found Anne Wayman: aboutfreelancewriting.com equally helpful when starting out.
